Marches scheduled in 200 cities worldwide
The “Global Marijuana March” has been scheduled for Saturday May 5th, in midtown Atlanta. This annual marijuana legalization event is organized by the New York City organization “Cures Not Wars” and is sponsored by the Atlanta Chapter of C.A.M.P., Coalition for the Abolition of Marijuana Prohibition.
The cannabis activists plan to assemble at 5:00 pm in FREEDOM PARK adjacent to the JIMMY CARTER CENTER and the Freedom Parkway. The march is scheduled to pass the CARTER CENTER and proceed further up to Ponce de Leon then to Atlanta City Hall EAST.
The MMM event is a variety of organizations joining in protest worldwide against today’s laws governing cannabis, with regard to medicinal marijuana, hemp, its legal status as a controlled substance, and for the reform of present penalties for possession and personal use of cannabis in the City and the State of Georgia.
This year’s Global March is to be held in 200 cities worldwide on the same weekend. The target of the march in Atlanta is to lobby the Fifth Estate, The City of Atlanta, and to inform its citizenry of a more rational approach to drug reform and treatment. The march’s international promoter of this event is CURES NOT WARS in NEW YORK CITY, NY. www.cures-not-wars.org
