We
are a volunteer org that gathered 40,000 signatures
to put complete legalization of cannabis on the ballot
for november 7th elections. We feel that Alaska has
more of a chance to legalize than anywhere else since
the proposal will definitly be voted on.
We will also be participating with an MMM event.

Our
scheduled event is happening on Saturday, May 6, 2000
to coincide with your efforts. We appreciate the hard
work you folks have put into these yearly events. We
have a lot of support from our community, so this may
be the first of many annual march/rallys for PDX.
We will begin marching from Pioneer Courthouse Square,
right in the heart of the City, at High Noon. The march
will proceed as close to the waterfront district as
we are allowed (Cinco de Mayo will be in progress and
the main street by the river is closed to traffic. Don't
know yet if that means foot traffic and wheel chairs,
also...), going past the Portland Saturday market area,
into Chinatown and Old Town and marching right back
up Broadway to the Square where we'll rally with speakers
and music.
Closing circle prayer around the drummers at 4:20 and
then, hopefully, continuing at a local club for nighttime
entertainment as a fundraiser for all outstanding bills
and to start next year's event.
Donations of $1 for expenses may be sent to: MMM2000
